Frequently Asked Questions
📅 Scheduling & Logistics
Q: How do I book my first lesson?
A: Since we don't use an automated booking system, the best way to start is by emailing info@CTCCusa.org. Please mention your neighborhood location preference, your general availability (e.g.: weekday mornings, and student skill level).
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance, especially for prime times (e.g.: after 4 PM and Sunday mornings), as our coaches' schedules fill up quickly.
Q: Can I request a specific coach?
A: Yes! You can view our coaches' profiles and their service areas on the Our Coaches & Locations tab. We will do our best to match you with your preferred coach, pending their availability in your area.
Q: How long are the lessons?
A: Private lessons are typically 60 minutes. Group clinics vary, but are usually 60-90 minutes. Kids/Youth sessions could be shorter.
💰 Pricing & Payment
Q: What is included in the lesson price?
A: The price covers the coach's time, expertise, court booking fees (if applicable), and all training equipment (balls, cones, targets, etc.).
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept major credit cards (via App request, Web Payment, Mobile payment app), Venmo, PayPal, Square, and Zelle.
Q: When is payment due for lessons?
Refundable Payment is due 24 hours before the session or within 48 hours to hold/reserve agreed time-slot, whichever is sooner. The time-slot is NOT guaranteed until payment is received.
Payment for single lessons is due 24 hours before a lesson. If you purchase a package, the full package fee is due 48 hours prior to the first lesson. We accept most major payment methods (credit card, Venmo, PayPal, Square, and Zelle).
Refund requests must be at least 48 hours prior to a session; once this deadline had past, student has 30 days to start the session.
Q: Do you offer discounts for multiple lessons?
A: Yes! We offer discounted rates for purchasing a package of 5 or 10 lessons. See our Programs & Pricing tab for details on package deals.
🌧️ Policies & Cancellations
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We require 24 hours' notice for all cancellations or rescheduling requests. This allows us to offer the court and time slot to another client or rebook our coaches. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Assume the lesson is on unless you hear from us. We monitor weather conditions closely. If we must cancel due to weather, your coach will notify you via text or call at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. You will not be charged for the session, and we will work immediately to find a convenient make-up slot.
Q: If I missed a clinic session, can I get a make-up lesson?
A: Due to the fixed nature and structured progression of our group programs, we do not offer refunds or credits for individual missed sessions. Your registration fee holds your spot for the entire session block, and our operational costs remain the same regardless of attendance. Make-up sessions are only provided if the coach cancels a session (see Rain Policy above). Although our coach had habitually worked with students on a make-up session before the next progressive session sometimes, it’s just not feasible due to scheduling. Please feel free to inquire.
🎾 Equipment & Skill
Q: What equipment do I need to bring?
A: Please bring athletic shoes (cross-training or tennis-specific shoes are best. Running shoes are NOT recommended), comfortable clothing (NOT baggy), and hydration of choice (water). If you own a racquet, bring it! If you do not, your coach can provide a loaner racquet for the lesson - Please request 24 hours prior to the session.
Q: I am a beginner. Is a private lesson or a group clinic better for me?
A: At CTCC, we recommend beginners with no prior play experience to take a group session for beginners prior to making a decision on private lessons or group clinics. A private lesson is recommended to establish proper technique fundamentals.
Q: Are your coaches certified?
A: Yes, our coaches are either experienced coaching professionals, and hold certifications from recognized tennis organizations (e.g., USPTA/PTR, and/or have extensive college and/or competitive playing experience). We ensure of coaches meet the strictest guidelines set by the Board of Directors in the organization for competence in their respective specialty.
